Gentlemen,

As we are almost all somewhat mechanically minded people here, I am going to assume that given plans and materials, pretty much all of you can build anything.

But my question is thus: Who can either draw a diagram or make an army colt from memory? I am curious as to how familiar you are with the internals and with the specifics of the gun...

Bonus: who can name the individual parts of the gun?

Regards,
Loki

some parts get different names depending on the status of my ability to put the gun back together.

I suppose I should mention that the modern versions don't have all the parts the originals do.
So far as making one from memory.
Dimensions are difficult to memorize when there are so many...

I didn't realize that. I've heard some modern versions don't have the "safety" pins in between the chambers that the originals did (though my Uberti has them), but what else is missing?

I have original & replica Colts: never found a replica missing any parts the originals did. The only Remington I took apart was an 1875, & internals are almost identical to my New Model replicas. What parts would be missing, as the actions are fairly simple?
