I bought a Austin and Halleck flint mountain rifle. I believe I got a deal of $335 including shipping. It's a shame they are going out of business, but a good deal is still a good deal. Anyone out there have one of these rifles?

Thanks for the input,
Willie

Where did you get your rifle at? I've wanted one but they are usally over $ 500.00

I purchased it from the factory. They are selling them at msrp less 50%. It's a good deal, but keep in mind they are going out of business. It could be a manure shoot based on some of the past quality issues I read on this forum. I elect the roll the dice, but that's just me.

thanks,
Willie

I ordered one myself, Willie. Along with the percussion version too. Did you get lucky and end up with the hand select wood? They were out when I ordered. Here's to our new flinters! I've shot the percussion version before. I hope ours are as sweet!

I had one for a couple years and I liked it pretty well. Last year, before deer season, I put 12 consective shots thru it at the range without a single mis-fire or flash in the pan. It was one VERY reliable gun.
