Coonies will lay you in a case as cheap as anyone. I got a case a year ago, laid in here at about $12 a can. They are just down the road from me, but the shipping was less than the tax so we had it shipped. If you pick it up you pay tax. If you have it shipped you dont pay tax. I'd rather pay freight than the governor.

Here in Daniel Boone's backyard - there isn't single retailer selling black powder anymore that I am aware of. :shake: Closet place to here for me is the NMLRA H.Q. up in Indiana - they have the best prices too

J.R., you can get it at Borders in Ashland-$13.99 a pound, plus tax, for Goex.

Has Dennison's started selling black again?

I usually buy powder mail order or from Graf's, 'cause Denny's was so expensive, so I didn't know they stopped selling it. I am about an hour from Fenton and it has been a number of years since I bought powder from them, so they may no longer be a source of powder.

Is there another supplyer in St. Louis area?

In Houston, I get BP at Bass Pro in Katy (30 minutes for me). Only place I know of in all Southeast Texas, but I could be wrong. Sometimes when I go in they say that they are considering discontinuing all reloading supplies. I'm paying more per pound, trying to keep the local supply available since I don't believe that mail order powder will be an option much longer.

I live in Billings, Montana and am very fortunate that there is a small gun shop (Sagebrush Trading) just a few minutes away that carries Swiss, Goex, and KIK. He only has a handful of muzzleloading guns but still carries the powder, caps, etc. It may cost a little more, but I won't buy powder anywhere else trying to support a local guy.

I live about 14 miles from them and I buy most of my pellets for my air rifles from them. I have not asked since they told me they were going to stop carrying it. Their reason was Goex being a real butt to deal with and the new regs that say they have to attempt to find out why you want the powder. They were afraid of liability issues under the current regs. At that time, they were also stocking Graf's powder. I bought my first bottle of it from them. That was when Graf's first came out. Dunn's quit after the fire.
Basspro, Graf's, and the New Cabela's all carry it supposedly. I know Basspro and Graf's carry it for sure. I just hate the 270-40 traffic I have to go thru to get to Basspro or Graf's. In a perfect world, there would be a local source of Graf's and Swiss! In this world I wait for Wally World to put the 777 and Pyrodex on after season clearance and I go buy a years supply cheap five miles from home on a pretty back road!

Sure, Thunderstick Trading Co.
Jefferson @ Speedway,. He's not cheap but he has
it. He's mainly Cowboy action stuff though.

We have a small sport shop here in town. They use to handle black powder. When the price of the lic went up to the point there was no longer any profit left that was the end of the black powder here. Very little interest in black powder around here almost everyone wanted the subs before the shop stopped selling BP. Now a person would have to drive 1 1/2 to 2 hours each way to get it. Triple seven and American pioneer is avaible at the sport shop and the local gun club.

We have a Goex dealer right up the Bear River from my place about ten miles. I shoot Wano and buy it by the case from Graf & Sons. It is set on my front step for about $11.00.

Portland Oregon. I have three choices. Pick some up from the Gun Works when passing thru Springfield, pick some up at Muzzleloading and More outside of Gresham or pick some up at a Rondy (usually from Muzzleloading and More).

Don't always believe evrything you hear about your area. I had been told there was no real black available in my area. I finally picked up the phone book and phone and started calling every available sports venue!
On the third try I was told by a competetior that they didn't carry it but gave me the name of the place that he thought did. It was a little out of the way shop in an old building that is probably passed by every day and most don't know it's there!
Turns out the president of the local Muzzleloader group owns shop. Incidentally I had been told the Muzzleloader group was closing doors! :yakyak:
Goex $15.00 a can. Guess what they say is true, "once you try realblack, you'll never go back"! :rotf: :rotf:

Picked up a case yesterday in Advance NC. (15 minutes from the house) Parks and Son.
12.33 a can after tax. Making smoke this weekend in Floyd Va. Yahoo!!

Yeah, the Cabela's store north of Minneapolis here carries Goex black powder for ~$18 per can. That's cheaper than 777 at ~$25 and about the same as pyrodex.

The only place that I know has BP in my area is Kesselrings Gun Shop Between Alger and Burlington WA.
