I've never reenacted a "battle". My focus is on "living" my persona for a period of time, whether that's a day trek, or a two week event.

I have friends who do "battles", but their attitude and goal is very different than mine. They put on their stuff, reenact the battle, take off their stuff - and that's it. It's like being in a play for them. They have no interest in the day-to-day living part.

The previous is a quote from our esteemed leader, Claude and sums up almost entirely the way the following poem came about.

This was written as a good natured jab at those who come out and play act for a while then change clothes and go home to warm beds and hot showers. Hope you enjoy.

Well done!!! Well said! To each thier own. No problem with that. However, the guy speaking his views in the poem totally mirror mine. I'm just to much of a maverick I guess to play/live any thing other than a headstrong do it my way sort of old mountain man that could care less what others think.
