My nipples are Ampro. RWS and Remington #11 caps work OK. Both fragment a bit, the Remingtons somewhat more.

CCI #10s don't fit onto the nipple. CCI #11s seem to fit on the nipple, but the cap protrudes slightly too far - and blocks the cylinder from turning past the frame.

Perhaps the Ampro nipples are slightly longer than Uberti specs?

Somehow, I thought the #10 and #11 caps had the same i.d., but the #10s were just slightly shorter? Evidently not.

I'm a relative newcomer - so I haven't been in a position to "listen." Using the search function, perhaps incorrectly, I didn't reach the previous posts. Sorry.

That is too hard for some. It's much easier for them to post a question and get an answer. I think some call it INSTANT GRATIFICATION.

Since everything under the sun has already been discussed here at one time or other, I think we should shut down the forum and only leave open the search feature. Then, that way non of the self important types will get bent out of shape when "THEY" are not listened to. When I try the search feature here, I get 500 hits of random stuff.

This is a discussion forum. If any here do not like it maybe they can leave and start an Insult or Belittling forum.

Try Remington #10s. They work perfectly on my Treso (Ampco) nipples.

I've said this so many times i'm blue in the face. Why don't they listen?

Maybe because they are new to the camp?

Gee Capper, no need to be so prickly. You running a cold camp over there? I can understand how no coffee or smokin tabacky can make a body a mite crotchity.

Besides being new to our hobby, many a tenderfoot are just getting introduced to these new fangle contraptions called a computators.

Remember, the only dumb question is the one never voiced.

Its not the inside diameter of the caps that varies, it is, however, the angle of taper of the nipples. Because there are minute variations in the nipple angles, this dictates where the caps snug up on them.

Many prefer to swap out their nipples with ones of higher quality control. Me, I make do with what I have and I handfit mine. So I don't go stroking anybody's fur the wrong way, any more than I have already. Try using the search function to find my posts as to how I do that.

Or, maybe some of us could settle down (by that I mean you). If you think he's asking a question he shouldn't, just ignore it. No call in being sarcastic and negative... :nono:

Yet, I helped him out, and you contributed nothing to the thread.

Pete,

I'd say I was on your side, but that would be perceived as being sarcastic and negative...so I won't say it! :v

Sounds like too many people are getting hyper-sensitive around here.

Let's get back to the original posts question.

Welcome to the forum!

A gentleman by the handle of mykeal wrote several posts about this subject and did testing & measurements too, along with making a graph. See if you can locate it in the archives, or better yet, just PT Mike (mykeal) and ask him to send you the correct link to the thread(s).

Also, glad you changed-out the nipples! Now you won't have to order 10 3/4 size odd-job ones from RWS :haha: .

Have a nice evening.

Dave
