Congratulations on your decent shooting and awesome recovery! Some times it takes both. I once shot a cow elk at about 60yds....just as she was spinning to take off. found hair right away....on top of 10" fresh snow...but no blood. I followed several elk trails out of the bedding area before finding a speck....I mead a pin prick, of blood I would never have seen w/o the snow. This told me this was her trail and within another 30yds....maybe 60yds from where she was hit...there was lots of blood spray from a solid lung hit. I found her not 100 yds from where she was hit....couldn't believe the lack of blood where she was hit.
