I used Bore Butter until about 3 years ago when a friend shot a bear and we rendered the fat. Bear grease doesn't really get stiff when cold, lubes well and can be used as lip-balm when needed. I use bear oil to lube the lock internals. It is slick stuff...

Using the same thing at the range and while hunting, in my mind, leads to more consistent results.
