I ran across a thread some time back and though I thought I had book marked it I must not have. It gave a nice pictorial step by step guide to making a shooting bag or pouch. Does this ring any bells for anyone? I have tried searching but either turned up way too many results or not enough.

Thank you,
Ben

Thanks Necchi. That one is great to have too but it wasn't the exact one I remember.

You're more patient than I am! :rotf:

Seriously, that book teaches you things you never even hear about from other sources, and they're all useful and necessary.

I ran out of excuses for making shooting bags (only need so many and only know so many people that need them as gifts), so I've continued on to use the techniques in all sorts of other stuff: Fishing bags, purses, camera cases, letter bags and tool bags. A guy goes through a lot of leather if he's not real careful.

Long as you're writing your Christmas wish list, I'll add one more book. With that one in your rack too, you'll be putting leather on your Christmas list.

Albert's book is a wonderful resource! Highly recommend it. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of the bag I made from it.

drat you! TC Albert! before i bought your book, i was a pretty normal fellow, but now i can't pass a roadkill without thinking, "it's not too badly mangled, i wonder if the pelt would make a good bag..." and i filtch little bits of leather from my eldest daughter's scrap bin, and i'm forever putting holes in my fingers...

grrr!!

seriously- if you don't have the book by now, you're missing a great one!

I'll sponsor you to your first meeting and be on call for you. Repeat after me:

"Hi, I'm MSW, and I'm an addict...."

:rotf:

Seriously, I just finished four fishing bags (envision a cross between a shooting bag and a "creel" set up for fly fishing) and I'm sorry the project is over. Surveying for more.... And it's all ole TC's fault!
