Modern supermarket folks have come to expect many foods to be universally like what is sold at the neighborhood market. The mentality that orange juice comes from the refrigerated case type. I had the opera unity to eat fresh tuna steaks. Never again will I eat that slop in the little cans. It just isn't the same. I made home made tomato soup with fresh vegetables from the garden last october . My daughter expected it to taste like the canned stuff. However she raves about my crab soup, which is from scratch. I think because she never had the stuff in a can.
I get my hams/bacon from R. M. Felts, in Ivor, Va. Smoked with Peanut shells, pepper cures,,none better. If I can not get that in time I go with Sugerdale hams, up here in New England.
