.433 balls from Hornady. I used 15 thousand's patches. Family shot many deer in 3 states with the rifle that cost 90 bucks in kit form., finished in Krylon flat camo colors. It went over 20 years before a nephew got sick of the paint and cleaned it up and blued it.

Still in the family killing stuff every year.
 
Got mine back in the '60s and used a .43?" ball from a mold they supplied. I think later on I was able to use a .440" in it and a thin patch. It is now retired.
