Anyone know where I can find some ballistics, and trajectory charts for BP, 777, and pyrodex with .45, and .50 prb's, and conicals? I only have access to a 100 yars range, and would like to have some idea of what happens between 100 and 150 yards.
 
I believe there is a post here somewhere on Ballistic Coeficients. Had a link to a ballistic calculator too. I'll try search and post the link if you dont find it first.

Thanks for that! That is pretty nifty.

For ballistic coefficients for round ball, Bob Spencer has this short hand approach: coefficient = Ball Wt. in grains divided by (10640 x ball dia. x ball dia.)

Example: 0.535 ball weighing 230 grains --->
230 / (10640 x 0.535 x 0.535) = 230 / 3045.434 = BC of .0755

And, since you have to have bullet weight, here is the short hand for that: Weight in grains = 1502.6 x (Diameter x Diameter x Diameter)

Example: a 0.535 ball ---> 1502.6 x (0.535 x 0.535 x 0.535) = 1502.6 x 0.15313 = weight of 230.09 gr

Lyman Black Powder manuals by Sam Fadalia has the back of the book full of 'em. Haven't seen 777 yet but there are eight editions and everyone has updated ballastic charts and deflection rates in them. :thumbsup:
 
Lyman's blackpowder handbook is great, has everything you want to know + a lot more, everyone should have one. Fadala had nothing to do with it but he has a book of his own that is also useful.
 
I use sight in charts designed for the .22 long rifle high speed loading. They run pretty close to round ball trajectories. Zero for 85 yards, be 2" high at 50 and 4" low at 100.
