I am curious as to the ratio of Ballistol-to-water for those that use ballistol as a dry patch lube. Do you soak-n-dry twice like Stumpy's Moose Milk?

I use Ballistol a lot, for shooting and cleaning. Buying it three cans at a time when I can find it. For patches, don't really know the ratio I use, about 5 squirts into a Ziplock baggie, a hunk of Wally World pillow tickin, enough water to make it milky colored, let it soak, squeeze out the excess before using, works fine. Sometimes even throw my between shots swabbing patches in the same mixture. Don't squeeze these out, just use them dripping and swab the barrel. Good stuff Ballistol. Shop around for a good price if you are going to order some. There are some places I have seen that were pretty proud of their stock of the stuff. FYI - Last cans I bought from Log Cabin's booth at Friendship were $8.25 for a 16 oz. can.

Somewhere between 5 and 10 to 1 according to Dutch Schultz.

Try it out. Make up some 5-1, soak some patches, add another does of water to make 6-1, same, and so on. Dry the patches in batches (hey it ryhmes) on a flat surface and then shoot them dry to see what your shooter prefers.

cheers
