To each his own. Like my wife and her Clorox. We have several feed lots down here also. I've never had the pleasure of smelling Ballistol fumes but if it is even close to Hoppes #9 I feel my MY nose is in for a treat. I really like the scent of a good gun solvent. Its not only refreshing but also brings back many a fond memory.
 
I like the smell of Ballistol and Hoppes #9. Although I prefer Ballistol, it makes a great aftershave for night out on the town.
 
Someone once told me that we are all genetically wired to either enjoy or hate the tase of cilantro...which my wife also hates...and I love.
Maybe it's the same gene? Or Ballistol is derived from cilantro? It is supposed to be organic...
