I have been shooting a muzzleloader for quite some time now and after tossing the idea around for ever I think Im finally ready to get a smooth bore. Does Green Mountain still make a smooth bore 20ga for my renegade? If not, what do you reccomend?

I put one on a single trigger renegade it shoots nice. I do not think the gm company made 62 cal smoothbore anymore Roundball had a post on this subject in the past couple of weeks. I ordered one from cains a few years back when they had a closeout sale on percussion

Check your state regs first. Here in Illinois the law says we have to use at least a 20ga.
Otherwise it should work.

I found a few 56cal smooth bore Renegades I like. Can I load them up enough for turkey?

I have a 56 smooth bore, I would like some answer too. I have been thinking about getting it jug choked? Cylinder bore has too big a pattern to take a chance on turkeys.

Sharp Shooter : I have a 56 cal smoothbore T/C barrel And did a little pattern testing with No.6 shot. And with the max charge T/C recemends for the barrel It fell short of what I think would be for a turkey gun. I had hopes of it for a squirrel gun. But figgure 20 yards is a max good squirrel shot, And thats streatching what I would be comfortable with. Now I know there gonna be Guys who say the make kills at 40 yards on here. But the 56 cal aint hardly enough gun for Me. I found a drop in 12 ga barrel for a renegade on Gun Broker web site. And I now have a barrel that can get the job done. But the 56 as a scattergun:surrender: But its fun for roundballs. Hope this helps ADC Trapper

Does anyone know anyone who would bore that 56cal out to a 62cal? Any idea how much that would cost?

probably more than a 62 cal green mountain would cost, try track of the wolf for them configuring a barrel for you. I think you can find contact for Ed Ryal Roundball listed his info. I would hate to see a nice 56 sb barrel used for this purpose I have seen them on gun broker for around 150-200 they are darn nice barrels

TOW & GM are both out of stock and GM have stopped making them. I wanted one for my Renegade (and still do)I was thinking of getting a barrel and boring it out also.
