This may sound strange but I have acquired a T/C Renegade in .50 caliber. Can a barrel liner be installed to reduce the caliber to .40 or .36 caliber for squirrel hunting? I already have two other .50 calibers, one in flintlock and the other in percussion. I tried doing a search but nothing came up. Maybe I used the wrong key words.

Bobby Hoyt can line the barrel to any caliber you want but this is a permanent solution and the barrel is bored out to take the liner which is installed with adhesives.

I have seen Bobby mentioned in several threads but did not know if this was feasible since most people go to a bigger caliber. I bought the rifle for my wife and she might not be able to handle .50 caliber loads even at a reduced level. She is small. At .36 caliber, I could borrow the rifle for squirrel hunting. 😁

The added cost might make it better to just sell it and buy the caliber you want.
