Looks like Centermarks old barrel marking.
Anyone know whose shop this trade gun came out of?
I'd think it'd have to be a lefty; in the old days, you'd flip the "negative" on a photo and confuse everyone! Some full-length pics - taken horizontally, would be good. And is it really a leftie?
Yeah, that's mos' def' a Frenchie mark.I've never seen a stamp like that before - although it has the air of being somewhat like a fleu-de-Lys found on some French arms
I'm intrigued to learn why you think it might be English. Do tell.
Please remove the barrel from the stock so that we can see the UK-mandatory proof marks.
Noticed that right off…I don't know, but some durned fool put the lock on the wrong side of the gun!
.I noted this is a contemporary copy of an ENGLISH Trade gun. Looks like similar guns made for the Hudson Bay Co. and it is a Lefty. I am trying to find out any info about its manufacture for a friend. The only markings are those on the barrel in the picture. Thank you
