Well dismorning I got a hold of bob hoyt , told him what my tc barrel was doing , he said send to him and he can recut the rifleing or put in a rifled barrel liner to what twist I want. First he will take out the breech plug and see whats the problems is , his prices are cheap , for just recutting the riffleng makeing them deeper is 40 bucks , and it its needs a liner dat would be 125.00 , a few weeks turn around time. Anybody has had diss done and is bob hoyt real good on doing diss , all i read about him dat he is real good .

Hoyt is one of the best and has quite a reputation in the N-SSA crowd. Back when I competed many of the best shooters sent out new barrels to be lined by him espeacially carbines such as the smiths.

He comes well recommended on this forum. I don't know him, nor have I ever done business with him, but I think it's a good idea to have him analyze that bore, just to see what's going on with it. If he can identify the problem, I would just take his advice on what the next step should be.

Please let us know if the problem is ever found. Bill

Grizz,
First, you are talking with someone who is among the best barrel makers around and I would listen to his reccomendation. Second, from experience, most religned barrels when done right will out shoot recut barrels. Many target barrels are made with liners right from the start.

Is he a member here? if not, would any of you mind posting contact information? (I'm sure I'm not the only one who's interested/curious.) Thanks.

Edit:
I just found it. Thanks anyways. And thanks for the information, as I hadn't heard much about him before.

BTW, Here it is for anyone else who's interested.

That's Lodgewood Mfg's. number. Bob's number is
717-642-6696. He's done around 10 barrels for me over the years some relined, some freshed out and recut. Always top shelf work. He even relined an original 1816 smoothbore for me which is very difficult, given the thin muzzle end.

Duane

Thank you for the correction. I thought I'd found the right info, but glad you caught my mistake.
