I am starting to build a Tenn. Mountain rifle from a Track kit. And starting from the breech plug and barrel, Where does Green Mountain put there logo top or bottom (flat). Or is this a factor? Breech plug is not installed yet.Any help Please.

Nornally, it is at the bottom. With today's machinery, barrel run-out is mostly a thing of the past. You can always call the company to be absolutely sure. The company has an 800 number.

The Green Mountain and old Sharon, Green River and Montana barrels were advertised not to have any run out. Over the years I have used three Green Mountains, one Green River and one Sharon and all were as advertised.

Mike is telling you ture about those barrels. They are planed after the bore is drilled. I have used over 160+ GM barrels now and have never had issue with runout. There are still a lot of Numerich, Dixie, and misc. Japanese barrels out there that have this problem. Bookie
