Curious to the cost of reboring a barrell. I have a 50 caliber CVA Mountain Rifle that would look a lot better as a 54 caliber.

Have a TC 50 I purchased used in the 80s had a nice tight bore with a .490 and a .015 patch. Over the years a .495 and .015 was loose called up “The Gun Works” in Springfield Or ordered a drop-in 1/66 with the length and sights I wanted installed. Gun came home and was truly a drop- in and shot great. I would recommend them to everyone.
Doc,

Last rebores I had done by Bobby Hoyt cost about $150 plus shipping to him. You would have to talk to him about working on CVAs, as I do not believe he will work on those because of their breech plug design.

40's are available from 3/4" to 11/4" check out Rice barrels specs !
I did,,,, a month ago when the OP made his post, and I offered my comment.
They where "un-available" at that time.
Perhaps @Virginia Rifleman you could contact @MurphWV and let him know my post from last month is no longer valid and he CAN find one at Rice Barrels.
That would help someone.
Thank's for pointing out my error, I'll be sure to check my month old posts about random suppliers availability issues on a regular basis from now on.
