Little known fact of the American Revolution: Colonial troops sat around in their huts at Valley Forge napping these from used musket flints. It's believed they were able to produce enough to last the entire war. Source: Peabody's Improbable History, ABC, 1959.

Getting the hang of making the bigger points without breaking them. Knocked this one out in about 2 hours made of 1/4 inch Bronze plate glass.

These are called turkey tails and am getting to the experience place where a Dalton point should be doable. The white on both of them is glare from flake scars. Mike D.
This is a fascinating hobby right in line with muzzle loading. Mike D.

Hear are a few of the latest. The green is from a bottle bottom, the dark one is black obsidian and the others are plate glass scraps.
The turkey tails seem to be my favorite shape as I gain experience at shooting long flakes on large thin points.
Wonder if this practice will help when I finally get my hands on some good chert as I'm reasonable sure it will handle quite differently. Mike D.
