Hey gang! šŸ˜ƒ

Today this bear pistol arrived in the mail:

A ā€œbear pistolā€ is the current term often used to describe long-barrel hunting pistols that the old timers sometimes used to hunt bears in the 19th century. Bear hunting then was often done with dogs, and once the dogs chased the bear up the tree, youā€™d let Teddy have it with your accurate long-barrel pistol. :) These types of guns were easier to move around in the brush compared to a long rifle especially when dealing with the fiesty pups.

This one was made by David Rase and is a smoothbore in .50 caliber. He also made the spiffy shoulder holster for it, based off an original. Iā€™m waiting on some roundball and things from Tradk of the Wolf for the gun and hope to have a range report soon. Thanks guys!
