I found that the rate of twist for these long barrels is 1 in 20 or 22, I am not sure what the rate is in the barrel I just bought.

Every time I say I have built my last another idea crops up. I have 5 deer rifles, 2 squirrel rifles, two fowlers and a gifted flint .44. The real problem that weighs heavily on my mind is where they will end up when I croak, I am almost 76, my son could care less. Right now, I don't want to part with any of them.
I have some of that problem. How about donating to worthy cause? Like kibler has done with that raffle rifle? Plwces and folks will both benefit from your efforts. Now that is a number of years away of course.

Not a bad idea, almost everything I have turned loose lately I have traded to someone for a St Jude donation instead of cash, my late wife's favorite charity was St Jude.
Yeah, we really are just custodians of these pieces for a spell. I enjoy just holding them, working the actions/locks , taking them apart and improving things as much as shooting them, I think. I'll be 74 the end of Oct.

Don't worry about it. You can go to sleep tonight, hopefully not permanently. knowing that someone, somewhere will enjoy using the guns you have built.
