this is what i did about 10 years ago. found out what the scrap yards were paying for lead. at that time it was .08 a lb. so i ran an add in the paper paying .12 a lb. i took in about 2 ton melted it down into 1 lb. ingets and was gettig .50 a lb. for ready to cast lead. both hard and soft.
the thing with lead is to always be on the look out for it and never trun any down no matter how much you have. once you have it you don't have to feed it, pay taxes on it, paint it, or worry about it rotting or rusting away. it just lays there waiting for you to use it.
