I can't even tell if those are real firing guns, although the little blurb at the bottom of the homepage seems to indicate such. If they are, I'd seriously question the wisdom of shooting something priced that cheap.

And some of those descriptions... a U.S. Kentucky short plains musket rifle used in the Revolution?

there are two different sections on that website for guns. i think the one that just says "firearms" is for decerative perposes onley. they have a section called "black powder" where the prices are much higher and the guns look much more sturdy and fireable.

i might check out there matchlock.

Ah, yes, I see that now. I didn't notice the two categories. Looks like that caliver is available as a lefty, too.

Everyone who has a John Buck matchlock has said that John Buck makes a quality product. I assume you are still quite happy with your monster 8 gauge matchlock?

Oh yes, very much so! She is a great shooter if you don't mind using a lot of powder and lead per shot. :grin:

I know that John did have a serious health issue last year which messed up his schedule. Calling in the early evening has been my best chance of actually getting him on the phone.

Leonard Day is just plain busy. Plus he is a very old man now. I did talk to him this past week because we were discussing a broken spring on my Wheellock. He still has three guns ahead of my lock repair.

Note: Mr. Day didn't build the lock, he just fixed some serious flaws that the original builder messed up. But the broken spring was one of the parts that wasn't upgraded.

That being said, fellow forum member, Raszpla made a beautiful Arquebus for a fellow Youtuber this Summer and it only took him a couple of months!

You might want to consider him. He certainly does do wonderful work! :applause:
