Are those the ones that Dixie imported from Japan? I heard they were good quality.

The TMR was made by Miroku in Japan, who also makes Browning firearms. I had one (.50)back in the early 1980s and it was a fine shooter, but like a dummy, I traded it off for something else. I bought another NIB about 15 years ago and still have it. They have excellent barrels. The triggers and locks are OK, but they work. I much prefer the TMR to any flintlock that TC ever made, other than the fact that its heavy.

Dixie still lists a .50 flint, left hand KIT for $650 plus shipping.

I bought my J.P.McCoy out of Las Vegas Nev. back in 1989...45 cal Flintah ..production gun and a beauty....don't know if they are still in business.

having had a few ( literally) my notes are limited as a result, but the best and reliable one I have had was the TC Hawken in .54 ( .530) perfect balance and even though it had a 1/48 twist was relatively accurate. Solid and easy to maintain.
Unfortunately, from what I gather, they no longer offer this model in fave of their Contenders and inlines. Too bad really.
