Best screwdrivers for Colt revolvers and replicas

I'm getting ready to upgrade my much used Grace hollowground screwdrivers to new hollow ground drivers; specifically for working on my Pietta / Uberti Colt clones. I'm considering Brownell's Magna Tip SAA set as an option rather than the Grace 3 driver set of Colt specific drivers.

Any recommendations / advisements from you all on the actual performance of the above sets?

I bought a Wheeler 43 piece set over a year ago that has served me well, no complaints and it's currently on sale for $28 on Amazon. The 72 piece Wheeler kit will set you back $50.

I bought the Brownell set about 45 years ago and I’m completely satisfied with it. I’ve replaced a couple and added a few bits. A good set will serve you well.

I don't know, my Grace Colt 1873 set has never failed me for all of my percussion revolver needs

I have the larger Brownells screwdriver set which has done the job. Is there an advantage to having the Grace Colt screwdriver set of three as well? Are they that much better than the Brownells set for working on cap and ball revolver repros? Thanks.

I got that 72-piece Wheeler set for my birthday about eight years ago, and it has been great for all of my guns, modern or black powder.

If getting the magna-tips, make sure to get the thin bit set also. Its about $50 just for that add-on set, but they sure come in handy on the italian pieces.

I am a screwdriver junky. All of the ones mentioned are good to very good but the absolute best is the Chapman set. Pricey but worth every penny.

Brownell's sells a four screw driver bit set with handle. Those bits will fit every screw on an 1873 either original or replica
. Also Beliveau has a video on his channel that gives the bit numbers.

The Grace set just feels more handy for taking with you to the range and I have yet to even slightly gall up or bugger a slot with them.

The replaceable bit drivers have that little bit of "play" sometimes in the bit, I like just having a fixed set of screwdrivers for each size. I can zip a Colt type revolver apart in minutes with my Grace set.

I also have the , I think Brownells set that has the bits that fit inside the handle. It's for Ruger Single Actions but some of the bits also work for repro cap and ballers.

Just the information I was looking for. I'm spending more and more time shooting and maintaining my BP guns. (They are more satisfying to use.) A few good screwdrivers in the range bag would be the way to go. And gives me the excuse to get some more high quality tools.
