Best way to carry shot?

For powder I carry a reproduction peace flask on a leather overshoulder strap. I have a 35mm film canister hanging off the front of the strap on a short leather thong and I drop the next powder charge into it, and then pour into the barrel. In a small possibles bag I carry over powder, cushion, and overshot wads in three different different colored mint tins. I have an Irish style Pedersoli shot pouch and use it to load shot. If I need a different size of shot I sometimes carry a plastic tube with same also in the possibles bag and use the spout from the Irish for a shot measure My caps are in a large capacity capper on a string around my neck. If I am going to be sitting in a duck blind or otherwise hunting stationary I also bring a 1/2 or 5/8 inch wooden dowel that is 12 inches or so longer than my barrels for a ramrod. Much easier to load with than the short under barrel unit.

Although this is not PC either, IMHO, it is a better solution that film canisters. Very handy in the field and on the sporting clays range.

BTW, I also use a adjustable plastic Lee shot dipper and an old teacup to measure shot and powder.

Hey Tamera,

Check out/find Greg Weeks. His email is [email protected]. He makes what I consider to be the coolest shot pouches from brain tanned hide with a wooden stopper/measure and hand woven straps. Truly an artist!

Tamara,
Like this. Made it myself. Make one and enjoy your own creativeness.

Thank you all for the many interesting suggestions!

I will have to do a little bit of experimenting, especially with the paper shot holders to see how those go.
