I am about to make some folding chairs for this coming campaign season.

What type of wood should I use for this project?

I know that the wood need to be the following: strong, a little flexible, and light weight.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciative.

another good wood for a chair is Port Orford Cedar. If you can find it.

Paul got to say that on a live radio show once... Found ya Paul!
How bout some pics of the chairs?

Ash, no doubt. I believe the most common variety up by you would be green ash. Poplar might be worth a look, or white pine.
