Is there a size restriction for birdshot in Michigan,I have some #2 shot I want to use for small game, very low dose!

As near as I can tell, as long as you're not hunting waterfowl, The only restriction is that it has to be smaller than buckshot unless you are legally deer hunting....
Contact the DNR directly to be certain.

Here is their poor excuse for a rule book.

Might check under muzzleloader hunting tab n forum, has state regs (though shotgun shot size likely covers both real manly powder and the other stuff too)?

The only restriction I am aware of is not larger than #4 for turkey. Not sure is there is a restriction on waterfowl or not, other than no lead shot.

The only problem with using the #2 in a "low" dose, especially if you're launching from a typical ML with cylinder-bore...,
..., a half-ounce of #2 lead for example will give you 44 pellets, and in steel will give you 63, if you measure by weight and if you measure with a volume measure then it will be the same number of pellets as the lead... 44.

A half-ounce of #4 will give you 68 pellets, #5 will give you 85 pellets, and #6 will give you 110 pellets. So depending on what you're hunting, and how close you plan to get, you might want to opt for more pellets.
