I can't say exactly what sizes to use for calibers other than .50 and .54 but 17/32 is PERFECT for .50 cal and 9/16 is PERFECT for .54 cal.

I just got the 17/32 bit today(had to special order it) and it's exactly right. I tested with .495 ball and ticking patch.

Thought y'all would like to know :hatsoff:

There is a list of bit sizes for calibers in the Member's resources section on the index.

True. But I have found I needed different sizes to meet my expectations.

Bad thing is the price of the bits :shocked2:
Thanks for the info.

You got that right. My 17/32 bit was just over $16 delivered. It's a small price to pay when you look at the enjoyment it will bring.

Others mileage may vary, but for me, get close undersized, then rat tail file to finish.

You should check out ENCO
They have a 17/32 bit for about $6 US
Delivery for one bit would be a couple of dollars.

I'll second the drill and file route. It is even period correct.
