Would there be something traditional/historically correct?

White color on black horns seems to be the accepted norm in contemporary times, but it being PC/HC does always concern me in making a contemporary powder horn. __ Personally, FWIW, I have only seen a couple examples of black horns being engraved and these were done in red pigment. __ Maybe someone will correct me!

Jim, Here is your horn! I hope you don't mind me posting it for you!

Hey, "NO PIC" :(

That really stinks as this is something I only seen a couple of times before but is really impressive when done right!

The one I remember was a buf done with red ink. It makes the ink really stand out!
