Black horn scrimshaw

Has anyone done scrimshaw on black horn? If so, what did you use to color the lines in?

Yep! __ White ink, red ink, oil paint, acrylic craft paints etc.etc.

Use artist white titanium white artist paint.

White color on black horns seems to be the accepted norm in contemporary times,but it being PC/HC does always concern me in making a contemporary powder horn. __ Personally, FWIW, I have only seen a couple examples of black horns being engraved and these were done in red pigment. __ Maybe someone will correct me!

That really stinks as this is something I only seen a couple of times before but is really impressive when done right!

The one I remember was a buf done with red ink. It makes the ink really stand out!

He does some great things with horns!
