Does anyone know where I can get Goex or another real bp and not a bp substitute in northern Cali? I'm in the Sacramento area and I sure wouldn't mind driving a few hours to get some...
If not I'll just get it online, I'd like to not deal with hazmat fees...but then again the price of stuff in california may just end up being the same amount anyways :haha:

If you shoot often enough to make 25 lbs a reasonable purchase, that HAZMAT fee isn't too bad. Have the invoice from my first such purchase right there... total cost for 25 lbs delivered, HAZMAT fee included, comes to $10.64 per lb of GOEX.

I can't beat that price within a two hour driving radius.

The box it came in is a little bigger than twice the size of your average shoe box. Won't be hard to find a place for it.

Try www.powderinc.com you can order in 5 pound minimum, and mix and match powders and brands. Same hazmet fee for 5 or 25lbs. UPS delivered to your door. Bill

Too bad California is changing the laws next year so all stores have to have a new license to sell BP and they can only store 4 lbs and residents can only store 4 lbs... :bull:

whatev, i'm gonna stock up, screw you Cali! :blah:

JohnnyO,

Hey bud, give me a private topic message with your phone number. I can get it through my club for $13.00 a pound. Hell, if you join the club (about 45 minutes from Rocklin) you can buy it yourself plus have access to what is probably the best range in California!

Bummer-dess. Is that a state law? Or some local rule. Only 4 lbs per store seems pretty darn limited.

The guy at Cordova Guns says its state law...it does sound a bit strict...
Statewide laws are one thing that bug me about Cali...most of the state is rural farmlands and mountains...and yet all of these people and rural places out in the middle of nowhere have the same laws as like east los angeles and the like...
Not saying the rural areas should be able to get AK-47s and the like, but maybe the laws should be a tiny bit relaxed...
And yes with all these laws criminals still rob banks with machine guns...
no criminal legally buys his guns...

sorry...rant off :youcrazy:

I was born and raised in CA, and you're right about the laws. The population centers are in southern CA (LA county and San Diego) and they have the representatives to push through whatever they want. They've done that with water forever. Water's in the north part of the state, big population is the southern. So guess where 3/4 of the water that used to flow into the San Francisco Bay (from both the Sacramento and San Jouquin Rivers)goes?... :shake:

Now, how many flintlock enthusiasts do you think live in those Southern Cal urban centers and how much say do you think they might have in state BP laws? It's a prime example of the tyranny of the majority. That's why there's a Bill of Rights in the Constitution.

Didn't have that problem in VT and don't have that problem here in VA.
