My son gave me this for Christmas it's huge and I'm not sure what to call it beyond a knife. It's sort of a bowie/kukra cross.
It has a 10-inch blade and is 14 inches overall. I guess it might come in handy during a zombie apocalypse... :thumb:

To my eyes it’s more of a fantasy piece than a working piece. Display and enjoy handling. Is that handle comfortable

My thoughts also, however, the blade is very well made and is real Damascus, I have large hands and even at that the dog knot is a bit large to hold.

I think you have a great knife there. I would definitely consider that a Bowie knife. While not the standard clip point Bowies were made in a huge variety of shapes and sizes. Generally a knife is thought of as a Bowie by it's size, usually a blade over 6 in but more commonly in the 7-10 in range. That's a very nice Damascus pattern blade with a Damascus laminated guard complete with file work. and the sheath looks like quality made. I'm not too crazy about the handle as if gripped at the back it would be blade heavy. Myself I would try to choke up one or two fingers to the guard for control. Is the top (false) edge sharpened?
