Good day everyone,
How do you store your blackpowder containers?
How do you store your blackpowder containers?
Damn I'm glad i don't live in NY. Lol.It doesn't matter how any of us store it, what matters is seeing if your state or local municipality has any requirements or guidelines. Failure to follow them can result in civil or criminal liabilities in the event of a mishap, and problems with your insurance.
NY, for example, allows a maximum of 5 lbs and requires it be in original containers or powder horns, and those in a wood box with 1/2" thick walls, painted red, marked "Low Ex" in white or yellow letters 4" high. Said box must be located in a basement or ground floor, no less than 10' from an exterior entry.
Too many rules. It doesn't matter how any of us store it, what matters is seeing if your state or local municipality has any requirements or guidelines. Failure to follow them can result in civil or criminal liabilities in the event of a mishap, and problems with your insurance.

Me, too. I moved to Maine a year and a half ago. Constitutional carry, bought an unmentionable handgun at a show with just a background check, have even done a parking lot trade. MUCH different up here!Damn I'm glad i don't live in NY. Lol.
My black powder is mostly in my garage, with a few cans in the entertainment room closet.
Howdy from Texas.
