All I can say is to keep in mind this fear you have and revisit it in a couple of years. My four years of fear has finally come to a close.
My guns must be different. Let me relate a story about one in particular.Back when I owned guns I would have been worried too. Now I dont own guns cuz they kill people and I like people and animals too. So I just have remote control trains n stuff.

I agree about the storage life of Black Powder. I'm still using 3Fg I bought back in the early 1980s. Still potent stuff. Ignites easily in the lock's pan. Keep 'er dry!Storage life of Black Powder kept dry and under 150 degrees: indefinite. Black powder from the civil war is still good if it was kept dry. If my memory is right they test some powder from 1930 and compared it to new powder. They found no difference!
Makes a good door stop tooI haven't been this short on BP since the late 1990s. I've got to come up with enough scratch to get an order made.
Fruitcake. It's the perfect gift, though. Buy a fruitcake and it can be passed around every Christmas for eternity.
So many punchlines, so little bandwidth.Fruitcakes give me the SQUIRTS!!
I agree with you. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. It is not the object, be it a gun, knife, rock, scissors or anything. It is the person wielding it. Heck, a person can kill another person with their bare hands. My guns are for sport shooting, hunting, self-defense and a hobby. None of my guns has ever harmed another human being. My guns must be different. Let me relate a story about one in particular.
I opened the front door of my house and leaned a shotgun in the doorway. I then placed four of its favorite shells beside it as I went about with my daily business. I had left the house for several hours, and while gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the trash truck picked up my garbage, the milk delivery service dropped off stuff all less than three feet away. Not only did neighbors walk by, but one walked their dog right past the porch on their way down the sidewalk. Upon returning I checked on the gun and to my surprise, it was still sitting there right where I’d left it. Even more amazing was the fact that it hadn’t killed anyone, even though it had numerous opportunities to do so. As a matter of fact, it hadn’t even bothered to load itself with the four shells I placed next to it. With all the media hype about how dangerous guns are in killing people every day, I was very confused as to how it could happen. Either the media is wrong, and it is the misuse of guns by criminals, or I have the laziest shotgun ever made. Sorry, I got to run now and check my silverware and pencils, because I hear they are making people fat and creating misspelled words!
Guns kill people ? News flash it takes people to load and pull the trigger. Guns don't just go around killing stuff. People still kill others without guns. Just look were there are gun bans. Look up stats on gun controlled areas crime is out of control.Back when I owned guns I would have been worried too. Now I dont own guns cuz they kill people and I like people and animals too. So I just have remote control trains n stuff.
Likewise, I week or so ago, a friend of mine at work brought me in a full can of Elephant FFFG, two tins of #11 CCI caps along with a straight line capper and a hickory ball starter. It belonged to his grandpa and he didn't have any use for it either. Elephant powder is not my favorite, but hey, it still shoots. I hinted for him to bring me anything else he couldn't use, hoping it might be the gun!I went up to the body shop to check on my car. Seems a guy decided he was done with reloading. He sold a big box of smokeless powder and necessaries for $100. Also three cans of black powder. Knowing I shot BP my friend said here I have no use for this stuff.
