I just wanted to say hello everyone. I'm mike, a blacksmith from Alabama. I've had a growing interest in gunsmithing for a while now and now I find myself daydreaming more and more about it. I don't really know what else to say so if anyone has any questions for me feel free to ask.

This forum is the very best by far when it comes to Traditional Muzzleloaders and BP shooting. We also cover in dept all the other related area's that go along with it as well.
You have a very interesting trade and I could see you enjoying our The Gun Builder's Bench as well as The Craftsman. All area's of the forum are top notch as well!
You will find like minded folks as yourself right here! The majority of our member's have decades of knowledge and experience. They would be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have. We would also love to hear from you as well!

You might be just the guy I need to visit then lol. I've got a local gunsmith that's supposed to be finding an old black powder barrel for some blacksmithing project I've been asked to make someone and I'm hoping to have some left over for my first pistol build.

In II Corps, the Highlands of Viet Nam, Republic of. First tour up north in Buon Ho District, Darlac Province. Second tour, back to Darlac, but as the S2/S3 Advisor. Didn't get shot at during that tour, but got to appreciate that we didn't get rockets tossed our way when I was living and working with the Montagnards... just mortars and 75mm recoiless rifles and lots of ****y traps out in the bush. Living with real sheets,showers and actual real cold beer was a nice change. I'll admit it, I enjoyed being a REMF :grin:

Welcome from another Alabama member. I got kin in Hayden. A William Sulzby. His daughter makes flies for fly fishing at the Bass pro store.
BTW I used to hunt in Rice Gulf long ago.
