Just finished my blanket capote.
Purchased the pattern and blanket at crazy crow.
The pattern was $7.50 and the blanket was $20.00
french made military surplus %100 wool.
I did all sewing with artificial sinew.
Took about 2 days to complete.

It was a very easy project.
Just cut out the pattern, the instructions tell you how to lay the pattern on the blanket.
Then just cut and sew.
Very good instructions.

I`ve been looking for one of these but could never find one..I have so many darn irons in the fire now I`m not sure I`d ever finish a kit but it is a thought

Its not that big a project.
If I had to I could have done it in a day, if I stayed with it.
Just pick a day and do it.
I spent less than $40.00 on the entire project.
I didnt want to spend the money there asking for a capote.
Hiking through the forest getting the blanket snagged on every tree limb I pass by.
Or falling in the mud.

Your welcome.
If you have any questions or problems with it just send me an e-mail.

Thanks Jonathan.
I would send you my pattern but Im going to make another one.
Pattern kit was less then $8.00
Blanket was only $20.00

Thats a nice lookin job, can I offer some unsoliceted advice???? Put a button on the capote located at the shoulder. This allows you to button close the neckline. Otherwise you lose a lot of heat when that flap falls open, and it will. Being able to keep that neckline closed tight is the difference between cozy and chilled. A Celtic Pin will work too.

great job,i just purchased a Whitny five point blanket i plan on making a capote from hope it turns out as good as yours.think i'll practice on a cheap blanket first.

Hi David.
Thats what I did.
I used a $20.00 french made military surplus wool blanket.
My next capote Ill use a more expensive blanket.
