There stuff looks good on line. I would take the chance, I have never had bad service from ML traditional supply houses.
Backwoods tin and copper was a little slow as he is pretty backed up but his work was worth the wait.
Townsend, TOW, Turkey Foot Traders, Pocitonic, Log cabin sport shop, Backwoods tin and copper, crazy crow ship wreck beads, panther primitives and I sure others have all done well by me.

One good thing is there local. I will save the shipping cost for sure and like you said their stuff online looks great

'morning,

I can't speak for their real tents, but I have a pair of their CW early style shelter halves.

Quality is good. Keeping in mind that it's a light-weight cotton drill, not real canvas. Stitching is tight and even. Button holes and grommets are hand worked.

I also got a pair of the end pieces, for times when I needed to actually enclose the "tent". They're a fairly heavy canvas - heavier and coarser weave than the 10oz used in my Panther tents, but I don't know what the actual canvas weight is and if this is representative of what is used in their real tents. Again, good quality, but they got cut up and converted to projects because of the weight. If I remember correctly, the buttonholes on the end pieces were machine sewn, but I could be wrong.

I've ordered a fair amount from BR over the years, but no other tents. Their customer service has always been good.

Calum

I checked out Fall Creek the sod flap on their tents are not as wide as ,BR not that that really matters but the tents cost less at BR than FC :idunno: . I've heard good things from some of the Civil war groups and they are local to my area so I think I will give them a shot. 2 to 3 week delivery time .

I have been reenacting since 2000. I have purchased items from both Falls Creek and Blockaderunner. Both are good for entry level items. Some are good quality and some are so-so. My tent came from Falls Creek it' is their medium sized A or common tent. Just right for one person and some stuff. Mine only has a front opening. I have had it since 2000, and just now considering replacement of it.I would buy again from Fall Creek.
Here are some things to consider. 1 or 2 door, I went with the 1 for a couple of reasons. Security(things won't slip out the back). Weather 1 less place for rain and cold to enter in. My cot can fit cross ways in the back where the back door would be and gives me lots of living room. and the back tent pole can be used as a clothes rack for stuff.
Considering your in Tn. I would take the trip to Blockaderunner They carry alot of neat stuff and can give you personal attention. They are ok to deal with on the phone.

I have an A frame from them for WBTS. It's about 5 years old. No complaints. I think they make their own. Should have had the sod cloth put on. No problems with ordering. At least their local for you. Compare canvas weight, fire retardant, warranty, etc. between the different companies.

I have had a small wedge (civil war) for about 7 years and a large wall for over 12. No problems with either.

Good company to work with. Call them and talk a bit or go by and see them in person.

Your reasoning and opinions are yours. But, I would go for two doors for a couple reasons.
I would not want to participate in an event where camp security is an issue. Yes, the reality of life is some folks will steal. But that happening would get around camp quickly. I have never seen it as an issue. The other big reason for two doors is, in hot weather any tent can become a bake oven. The two door ventilation is a godsend. If I were ever to get back into ronny and buy another lodge, it would certainly have cross-ventilation capabilities. But, maybe the sun never shines in Michigan.

Indeed! and I never have......Rendezvous goers tend to be more honest folks IMO....All dressed up carrying a gun, knife and Tomahawk....You're never sure if that burly fellow next to you is a doctor, lawyer or "hell's angel"... :haha:
