To breath fresh breath into the notion of blowing down a barrel:

I'm going to run a half box of Hornady's through a .45cal Flintlock first thing in the morning, and won't be blowing down the barrel after any of the 50 shots...and...I can predict with certainty I will not experience any negative effects with fouling, accuracy, or safety if I don't.

Jeeeeesh. No offense roundball but they'r still fightin over on the other post eeven as wee speek.
Do we reely need two of um goin at the same time?

Yeah, roundball... but that's a .45... I was wondering about my .50 cal. rifle... how about blowing down that barrel? What does everyone think?

(Just kidding... please - not another one of these threads! :shocked2: :blah: )

I always thought blowing down the barrel was much better than "blowing up" the barrel. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Whewwww......I made it back safely without blowing down the barrel !!
And...due to moderate humidity I really lived on the edge and never wiped the bore between shots either!!

Congratulations RB, since you have proven there is no spark or ember in the barrel, the next string of 50 shots can be loaded directly from your horn without bothering with a measure!.....without blowing or swabbing, of course. I think that would be the next LOGICAL step. Good Luck!!
