Buy it, try it. If it works go get a lot of it. 👍

Don't worry about how thick it is. :hmm:
Ah, the totally random approach. 😂 Count me out on that one. :) I've got enough piles of junk around here without adding piles of fabric I'll never use.

The micrometer makes the difference.
For the rest, I use only white patches : it's easier to find the white patches on the green grass than the green patches on white grass... ;)
Unless you're shooting in snow! And it's hard to find .32 patches just about anywhere.

I have plenty of brown and blue ticking that measures around .018" and some blue stripe that measures .015". Years ago I also bought some red stripe ticking which was worthless for patches. Holding it up to light I could see through it.

Washing patch material cleans away the starch, tightens the weave and causes it to become ever-so-slightly thicker. The red? Well I only use it for cleaning.

My JoAnns has blue ticking .018”, the red and floral felt so thin I didn’t measure it.
Along with .020” drill I picked up some denim in .020”, .022”, .024”. The thin denim is a loose weave and falls apart easily, just right for carding rust blue.
Funny how some guns love a really tight patch, but not so tight I need a hammer!
I cut up some jeans that measure .035”, but haven’t found a gun that likes it… yet!
If it’s too thin for patches it makes a nice liner for a suede or cotton duck case.

Howdy folks:
Welllll, I've got some ticking here from Wally world that measures .009" and had no color, it was natural. Except for where I slopped Grape juice on it when I was cutting it. Now, does that make it "Purple" Ticking? :rolleyes:o_O:eek::oops:
Seriously, I agree with ebiggs1 Buy some, try it, if it does what you want....buy a bunch!!
My God...2 sq. yards @ 1" per patch, will give you almost 2,600 patches. How many do you need? I, for one, would need 2 lifetimes to shoot up 2,600 patches.
Just sayin'
God bless:
