Blue or Brown

Picked up a 45cal. Jukar Kentucky pistol today that was put together but never fitted or finished in any way. Anyone need a lot of wood shaving just send message. But what I was wondering about, was finish on the barrel, should it be blued or browned. Didn't know if this was a historically correct reproduction or not but wanted to keep it in line with how it would have been done.

Which do you prefer? Both would be correct finishes so it's really up to you.
