Does Bob Hoyt have a web site to look at? I just sent him a barrel to work on . Talked to him ..seems like a great Guy !

Jeff, what did you have to do to prep the barrel to send it to Bobby. You just take the sights off?I thought I read somewhere a while back that some off these barrel smiths want the barrel un-breeched before sending in.I'm thinking of sending Bobby a TC barrel for rebore and really don't want to unbreech it myself.Thanks.

I just sent it as it was after I took it off stock. Sight is still on it. He didn't tell me to do anything to it. He got it the other day..Talked to him..Nice Guy!

He has no digital communication, just a land line. You can send your barrell as is, with or without sights, breechplug. If you try to call be patient. He can be frustrating with answering the phone or returning messages. Good luck! Bob E

Does anyone have Bob's contact information, I have a 20. ga. that I would like to have bored to a 16
Many Thanks

Sometimes he can't hear the phone with his machines running. Leave a message. Or call early before he gets started.

He has always treated me well and he loves to talk shooting-hunting. Hes an avid patched roundball shooter and is always willing to share his favorite loading recipies. He also works on just about every type of firearm from 22s, centerfires and the muzzleloaders. If you can get a chance swing by his shop. Its a learning experience. Cheers! Bob E

I think he is running two or three or more machines at the same time and only answers the phone when the machining jobs in progress don't need his attention.

I have a few barrels with liners that Bob did for me. And, five more at his shop right now waiting for liners. And so far, two more by the time he gets those back to me :surrender: His workmanship is so good you have to look real close at the muzzle to even tell it has a liner. The five barrels have been there since mid April. But he did tell me at that time it would be about six months before I would get them back :( It seems that every since he started making "new" ML barrels, his backlog has been much longer? My personal experience with him has been excellent. I just hope he has an apprentice he's training before he desides to retire :shocked2: I don't know anyone else in the Country that does the variety of smooth or rifled liners. It's probably good he doesn't have a Web-Site - he would have even more business and longer deliveries :haha:
But you have to be patient. Rick.

he has reworked two barrels for me with good results. One was a smoothbore, the other was a rebore and rerifle job. great work on both, and yes, he's a nice guy, in case anyone was wondering.

Had him reline a Lyman GPR barrel for me to .458 with a tight twist. You couldn't tell it was relined. I couldn't get it to shoot the bullets I wanted and he relined it with a slower twist and didn't charge me extra other than asking for my patients. I'd say he's the definition of a gentleman.
