I have a real nice 18th century European pistol that I would like more information on. It is an Italian pistol that I am told was made in northern Italy that was actually Switzerland in the 18th century. The lock is engraved "Bonetti." And the barrel flat is inlaid in gold with the name "Atorchione." Can anyone provide information on this piece?

Try as I may, I can't seem to be able to upload photographs on my system. I'd like to share a look at this pistol, so if I can find a way to upload a pic, I'll again visit this site!

Upload the pics to photobucket.com. It gives you a link that you paste in your message and voila, a pic! Easiest system that I know of so far. Good luck and can't wait to see the pics. :)
