book for stock

are there any good books out there on finishing or staining stocks. i have a couple of building books including GGC but the stock finishing part isn't very specific. I am going to start my first gun soon and want to be sure i know what i'm doing or at least a little,lol thanks

 

Try searching the forum on staining, and finish. There have been a lot of threads on both subjects. GGC is very good. One of the most important things in staining and finishing is the prep work, getting the stock smooth enough by scraping, sanding and feathering. :results: Did you get the plans yet. Bill
