That's the last book I'd recommend to ANYONE. Fadala is full of sheep dip.

Get a copy of Lymans Black Powder Manual. Not only is ballistics covered but plenty of articles on loading, cleaning and using your muzzleloader.

If your into Flintlocks look for "Flintlocks, A Practical Guide for their Use and Appreciation ", by Eric A. Bye. I believe he posts on this Site.

Looking for info from one of the pioneers of the "Modern" age of muzzleloading?
Look for a copy of Walter Cline's " The Muzzleloading Rifle, then and Now".
Red Cline was the first President of the NMLRA.
The book has pics of competition targets from the 1920s-30s that are simply astounding, for ANY era. And pics of original Muzzleloading rifles from the 19th century.

I'm certain more info will show up soon from other members.
Good luck.

Welcome to the hobby and the Forum.

I'm sure Sam made a good living writing books and trying to be the expert on everything archery, bows, bowhunting, muzzleloading, etc. but I never could get into his stuff.
