Bore Light???

Where can I get a new bore light? My old one just won’t work anymore!

Walmart also has fishing lights that work as bore lights, inexpensive too.

The Thill fishing bobber light would be a good replacement for your bore light, @FiremanBrad. These are available at most fishing supply stores and Walmart. The yellow color might have the best visibility.

I have one in my rifle box and one in my pistol box. They work well and fit small calibers which I like.

FiremanBrad, I have the same light as pictured. Over the years have had to bend back the little contact wires inside. Have you tried that?

If you have to buy a new light the fishing bobber light Grenadier1758 posted is good.

Amazon has a couple. Search muzzle loader bore light. I'm down to one that works and thinking of ordering a couple more.

I use the lighted" bobbers" for most work but for serious inspection I like the "inspection light" sold by O'rilly auto parts as it is very bright and less than .250 in diameter.

I have used one of these for years. Works from .50 and up. Just slide the pocket clip off each time you use it.

I have one such, and the folks are right, check the wires on the LED and double check the hearing aid batteries. I've found them dead (even when just out of the blister pack).

Good for you. I found that the LED version like the old one of yours and the one I have is rather bright when trying to photograph a bore, but the fishing bobber lights, especially the cyalume chem ones are the right illumination.

I remember in the past folks had a lot of positive things to say about the O'Reilly light.

No, I checked both batteries!!!! And, tweaked the wires on the bulb!!!

I have one too and have done the same "tweaking" to keep it working. There's not too much that can go wrong with them other than new batteries.

I just use a small round mirror that is glued to the end of a dowel. Drop it down the bore, and shine a flash light down the bore to see.

I can't find anything less that .62", got a source for smaller???

I second the lighted crossbow arrow nocks. I bought a six pack of them for like 12$ four years ago. Still using the same one. They will fit down the bore as small as a 32 cal too. They are LED and the battery will last for years.

I get mine at the hobby shop. They have them for decorations and come in a variety of sizes. I have been able to fine some for .36 and .32 caliber guns.
