I have a brass bore light that goes in the barrel of my muzzle loader and the battery died. I cannot figure out how to replace the battery and get the light to work.
I put the new battery in but the light won't come on. Is there a trick to doing it ? Does anyone have a diagram showing how it goes together ?

I’ve had a few of those. The entire light didn’t seem to last any longer than a set of batteries. I just bought a six pack of lighted arrow nocks about five years ago. Still using the first one out of the pack. $13 and will last forever.

The batteries are in right and everything is clean. When I turn it on I have to push down on the bulb for it to light. Something isn't quite right.
I am going to order the arrow nocks, are they bright enough ?

'morning,

Mine has an adjustment on the bulb end. If yours does, try screwing the bulb in more, with the butt end loose - I adjusted the bulb end once and pierced a battery with the butt contact, didn't realize it...

The only issue I have with the arrow nocks is that they strobe. So if you're trying to get a photo, good luck. Otherwise they work as well as the brass lights.

Doesn't help you fix the one you have, sorry ... but for other Users, these LED bore lights by Traditions, $10 or so, are the bomb! Only issue really is that they only work in 50-cal bores and bigger.

But for less than 50-cal bores, there you can take a AAA battery and insert it post/tip-side 1st down the barrel, then peer in the bore with a strong flashlight. In fact, that takes a better picture of the bore condition too, as the LED one above is wicked bright!

They are a LOT brighter than what you’re using. They are also small enough to fit a 32 barrel.

The ones I have don’t strobe. They are constant. I posted a link to ones from Amazon but I bought mine from rural king. I wasn’t aware that any of them had a strobe flash effect. Good to know. I just watched the customer review videos and the ones I linked on Amazon don’t strobe either.

I've used a couple of lights I bought from an O'Reilly auto parts store. On the first one the batteries finally died. Imagine my shock when I wanted to buy new batteries for it; they cost more than the light WITH the batteries included! So I found another light w/batteries and got another one. They are almost impossible to find now and the batteries are ridiculously expensive. I liked them because they were very bright and would fit in a .30 caliber barrel.

If it's the same one I have, there's a lock ring you remove, and then there's a threaded barrel that holds the batteries and LED in place. That threaded barrel has a top and bottom, take it out, reverse it, and that should solve your problem.

Lighted arrow nocks are the way to go, way better than the brass ones made for muzzleloaders. l have had a couple of the brass lights and they didn't last long, l much prefer the arrow nocks.

I bought a 4-pack of keychain lights at Lowe's for 10 bucks that work great for 50cal and above.

What color nock do you feel lights the best? Do they make a white led?

Been thinking about buying one of these.

Howdy, Since being fairly new at this game, I am unclear how these lights are used. I am assuming that the purpose is to check the condition of the bore. Are we just shining a light down the barrel, or dropping it down the barrel so the light shines back up the bore? Er wat?
