Does anybody know where I can obtain a set of the above ? These are the ones that drop down the barrel, and come in various sizes or a set. I have an old Bowen percussion rifle and would like to take a look down the tube and see if it is shootable. Thanks. Larry

Think I got mine from Track of the Wolf or Gunworks Emporium. They work well with a small bright penlight. It would be easy to make one out of a piece of alloy rod offcut & pollished.

I made mine out of aluminum, polished to a mirror finish on one end, .45 - .54, they work like a charm.

Just make sure that you cut them at least caliber length so they don't tip in the bore and get lodged.

More better, get a bore light. There are several on the market. I recently got one from O'Rielly's automotive. It was reccomended on another thread here. Very bright and very slim. It can be tied with a string and dropped down the bore.

If your wanting to inspect the bore of your rifle why not use a bore light? I bought mine from Muzzleloading and more in Sandy Oregon but you can also use the lights that are used on fish bobbers. The first use hearing aid batteries and the latter are self contained and last darn near forever but are super cheap so when the batteries run down there is no big loss. Get the green ones as the red doesn't show up real well. FRJ
