Hey yall....The fabric store where I bought all my pillow ticking .018 patch material is going out of business so instead of buying my normal 2 yrds I asked the owner to make me a price on the whole bolt. She did an I bought for $20 bucks so the question to you fine gentlemen is how do I store this stuff. In plastic is the only thing I could think of :idunno: Now I got enough to last me for my lifetime an my grandboys shouldnt have to worry till they are grown men. Thanks to all in advance

Just fold it and put it in a closet. Same way you store sheets or shirts.
Yup. Just leave it on the bolt if ya want, take off what ya need.
Ya don't put a good suit in a plastic bag, ya might cover it with one but it's not sealed,

Congrats. I have some denim left from a bolt I bought over 30 years ago. It has been in all kinds of storage and got forgotten for a long time. Still in fine shape. Just throw on a shelf and use as needed. I wash all my patch cloth before lubing and use.

If you want consistency in pillow ticking....... buying by the bolt is the only way to go. Reason being you can go back to the store 6 mo later, use the Same Exact SKU number, and it will be a dif. thickness of material. And Do NOT go by what the people selling it say. They don't have a clue of what a mic even is & go by looks & description on a tag & how it feels... . Use the mic, find what ya want, buy all ya can afford.

Just stick it on the shelf in a closet & forget it, it will be fine.

I didn't get a bolt, but I did pass by a garage sale-the day after- and picked up a free piece of ticking- 6 yards. Measured out at .018. Washed it & stashed on a shelf, waiting for that .58 Rice barrel I have on order.

A good find Allen  I picked up a bolt a couple of years back when one of the Wally Marts was doing away with their fabric section. I just have mine stored in a enclosed trailer in a cabinet. I haven't had any problems yet.... :idunno:

You did well indeed! You can expect cotton prices to soar this year, especially considering the effect of the drought in the cotton belt. Linen might just become cheaper than cotton!
