Boxlocks at ten paces

It's the Christmas shoot next month and I do like to try the boxlock pistol competition. 2 foot square target at 10 yards.

My pistol has a bit of rust pitting half way up the bore, wonder if it would make the slightest difference if it wasn't there, or would that be cheatin' :hmm:

I don't think it should make any difference. I can hit a ten inch paper plate at 10 paces with one of my smoothbore derringers. Just practice a bit and I think you'll do fine.

It might if you're slipping it over the end of an arrowshaft. It could stick if the bore's rusty. So, don't tell anyone. :winking:

Dam! English bullets you say?
I have a whole bunch of American roundballs and I even have some (newly made) '43 Spanish bullets but I'm plumb out of English bullets.

Hey, Maybe that says it's a bullet firing crossbow of English design?? Nah! The English design would have been made using a Long Bow. :rotf: :rotf:
